Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Equilibrium
*In general, we write equilibrium constant expression in terms of molar concentration or gas phase pressures.
*The pure liquids or solids do not appear in the equilibrium expression.
Homogeneous Equilibrium
-Equilibrium in which all the reactants and products are in the same phase is called homogeneous equilibrium reaction.
-For Example
Heterogeneous equilibrium
-If a reaction occurs in more than one phase, the reaction takes place in a heterogeneous equilibrium or if the reactions in which the reactants and products are present in different phases are called heterogeneous equilibrium reactions.
-For Example
Equilibrium Constant, Kc = [H2O(g)]
